E2 Investment Tips: Which Tiles Are The Most Valuable And Worth Buying?

This guide is for anyone who has decided to invest in Earth 2, but may not be sure which tiles to buy. Of course, you can skip right to using our resource map, but we recommend you read this guide first to understand what makes certain tiles valuable and worth buying.

Investment Tip 1: Buy popular places with lots of foot traffic

Buying tiles in locations that have a lot of foot traffic is a good idea because their perceived value is higher. This makes it easier to sell tiles for a good price as the demand increases. In later stages of Earth 2 development, such as Phase 2 and Phase 3, all buildings will disappear to allow users to create buildings on their property. However, it’s still important to invest in property with high foot traffic, because these locations will be the most valuable. When virtual reality is eventually integrated into Earth 2, more people visiting your land in real life can translate into potential higher ad exposure – the same way that advertising on a digital billboard in Times Square costs much more than advertising on a billboard on a random highway. This doesn’t mean that the locations necessarily have to be famous – as long as they are popular. Think of places where lots of people visit on a daily basis, such as airports, bars, stores, stadiums, train stations, etc.

Investment Tip 2: Buy tiles with Grade 1 or 2

Each tile has a grade from 1 to 3. Higher grade tiles typically generate more income tax and are therefore in higher demand. As more tiles are purchased in a country, the tile grade drops – and this applies to every available tile in that country. Geographical location is mostly irrelevant in Earth 2, as far as the class of tile is concerned. If a country only has grade 3 tiles, then consider investing in a different country that has a higher tile grade. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to see a tile grade before purchase. You’ll have to employ trial and error, or use the internet to research.

Investment Tip 3: Buy tiles with resources (gold, silver and minerals)

The developers have stated that, in the later phases, you will be able to harvest resources such as minerals and gold in certain locations. Obviously, the tiles found in these locations are going to become extremely valuable. This is why many people are using mineral deposit maps to find tiles located in areas with valuable resources.

Investment Tip 4: Buy multiple, significant small tiles rather than one big property

Consider places that don’t take up much place, but may still be popular or valuable in some way. For example, a building such as a lighthouse usually only takes up one tile. This means, it is much cheaper than buying a large building. You could maybe even buy 10 lighthouses for the price of one building.

Investment Tip 5: Buy tiles with beautiful views and scenery

Once Earth 2 incorporates virtual reality, people are likely to seek places with a beautiful views. Since the developers aim to remove all buildings from the map, consider tiles that have views – think mountain top or beach locations.

Investment Tip 6: Buy tiles in cheap, overlooked countries

Tile prices can vary a lot from country to country. Maybe you know of a special place in a country that still has cheap tiles that have not yet increased in value. Even though they may be cheap now, that doesn’t mean they will not become valuable. On the Earth 2 companion app for smartphones, you can see which countries are the cheapest.

Investment Tip 7: Buy tiles in MegaCities

MegaCities are becoming a viral trend in Earth 2. Many people are buying land in remote areas and countries with cheap tiles to form huge, virtual metropoles. Getting some central tiles in these megacities could be a great investment and pay off as these megacities get more exposure. As more people buy land in those areas, the tiles will increase in value. We have provided a map of MegaCities here.

Investment Tip 8: Diversify your Strategy

Nobody truly knows the best strategy for buying tiles, yet. The project is still in early development, and there are many unknown factors. That is why diversifying your investments by buying different types of tiles is advisable – a mix of popular places, spots with beautiful views, tiles in MegaCities and possible mineral locations.
